Dominican government lifts booze ban during holidays
Santo Domingo.- Interior and Police minister José Ramón Fadul on Tuesday announced the annual and traditional lifting of the country’s partial ban on the sale of booze, during the holiday period lasting three weeks.
He said there’ll be no limits in the schedule hours for bars, night clubs, restaurants and colmados to sell alcoholic beverages, from December 10 to January 8.
“The lifting of hour restrictions will benefit music groups, bands and other groups of artists who provide services that usually have a greater demand during the Christmas period,” the official said, and warned of heightened patrols around those businesses to prevent threats to citizen safety and public order.
