Dominican-Americans to march Saturday in New York
New York.– Dominican-Americans in New York have planned to march Saturday in support of Dominicans with Haitian descent, who will be affected after a Dominican court ruled to strip citizenship from children of Haitian migrants.
The organization “We are all Dominican” is hoping to raise awareness among the Dominican community in the U.S. The group said in a statement that they oppose such an attempt by the Constitutional Tribunal “to exclude our Dominican brothers and sisters of Haitian descent and deprive them of their basic rights.”
The march will begin in Washington Heights neighborhood and end in front of the Dominican Consulate in Times Square.
