Cuba to help DR reduce teen pregnancy
Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina met Friday morning with Mariela Castro Espin, the director of Cuba’s Sexual Education Center (Cenesex), in an official meeting that lasted over an hour.
The Dominican head of state and Raul Castro’s daughter discussed various issues, among them, the most appropriate and effective strategies to reduce teen pregnancy and maternal and infant mortality, as well as sexually transmitted diseases (STD) including HIV / AIDS.
They also talked about the possibilities of working together to promote reproductive rights and sexual health of women and girls and positively impact other countries in the region.
