Condor Airlines will add four additional flights between the DR and Munich
The German airline Condor will add four additional flights between Munich and the Dominican Republic, beginning in November of this year.
Three of the flights will be from Munich to Punta Cana and the other will fly into Puerto Plata, on the country’s north coast.
Condor currently operates two weekly flights to Puerto Plata, a daily flight to Punta Cana, in the country’s easternmost region, and four flights a week to Santo Domingo, the capital city.
Germany is the country’s second most important provider of tourists to the Dominican Republic. In 2012, a total of 183,887 German tourists traveled to the Dominican Republic.
The announcement was made in Berlin by Magaly Toribio, a marketing and publicity advisor to the Dominican Ministry of Tourism.
The Ministry of Tourism has projected a five-percent increase in the number of German tourists visiting the Dominican Republic during 2013.
The Dominican Republic’s stand at the ITB 2013 received a third place award during this important international tourism event. The exhibit was recognized as the “Best Americas and Caribbean Exhibition Booth.”
The stand also won first place at the fair FITUR tourism fair, held in Madrid this past January.
The awards are organized by the Cologne University Business School CBS, in coordination with ITB Management.
