Columbus’ Colonial Home museum will now include Mandarin in its tours

The “Alcázar de Colón,” in Santo Domingo, the first Vice regal residence in the Americas and the official home of Diego Columbus, the Admiral’s son, will now include the Mandarin language in its audio tours.

The museum, which exhibits a valuable collection of more than 800 pieces of furniture, tapestries, ceramics, sculptures and paintings that date from the thirteenth to the twentieth century, also provides audio tours in Spanish, English, French, German, Russian, Italian and Portuguese.
The service is provided by the “Audio Guide Dominicana” company, a pioneer in providing local audio guides and “guided audio groups.”

The service lets the visitor use a mobile phone to listen to the information.

Audio Guide features high quality MP3 stereo sound, and easy to use hand equipment to use during the museum tour.

These devices are the same used in the largest and most famous museums in the world, including the Louvre Museum, the Metropolitan Museum in New York City and the Statue of Liberty, among others.
