Colombian drug trafficker sentenced to 15 years by Dominican court
Santo Domingo.– A court in Moca, 149 km northwest of Santo Domingo, sentenced Friday a Colombian man to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Francisco Pacheco Hurtado, 72, was arrested four years ago for possessing more than one kilogram of cocaine, along with a Dominican accomplice, Jose Miguel Paulino Mendoza, 42.
So far this year, authorities have seized more than four tons of cocaine in different anti-narcotics operations, with the largest seizure of 1.9 tons of cocaine taking place on March 27.
