The task of checking the information about foreigners registered in the Civil Registry from 1929 to 2007 is around 70% completed, with 83 municipalities finished and the rest between 40 and 80% complete.
Diario Libre executive editor Adriano Miguel Tejada, coordinator of the Inspection Committee, announced that they have found different situations including some places in the east where the registration books have only 10% Dominicans and the rest are foreigners.
The information was shared at a press conference held yesterday, Monday 4 November at the head office of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) headed by its president Roberto Rosario Marquez and included the Committee of JCE Directors, coordinated by Cesar Francisco Feliz Feliz and members of the Inspection Committee including Adriano Miguel Tejada and Mario Rivadulla. Rosario Marquez emphasized that they had finished 70% of the municipalities in four days and they think everything will be completed in 10 days time which was the internal deadline given to them, although the public one was 15 days and 30 days given by the National Immigration Council.
