Canadian supermarkets want local farm products
Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Export and investment Center (CEI-RD) director Jean Alain Rodríguez on Monday met with executives of Canadian supermarket chains, aimed at boosting exports and diversify the products sent to its markets.
Representatives of the IGA supermarket chain, of the Canadian company Sobeys, look for Dominican supplies interested in exporting their products to Canada.
Executives from more than 45 local farming, agro-industrial companies and cosmetics and cleaning products manufacturers met with the Canadians at CEI-RD offices, with an eye on the Canadian market.
Rodriguez called Canada “a great market,” and in his view has a high potential for Dominican exports. “There are many areas with advantages from the relations between the two countries.”
