British Chamber’s Annual Golf Cup set for 23 March, at La Romana
Santo Domingo.- The British Chamber of Commerce will stabe its 16th Annual British Golf Cup on 23 March at the links Teeth of the Dog, Casa de Campo in La Romana.
BRITCHAM president Campos De Moya, the event is a great achievement for this institution, since turning 15 years since its first version 1998, and is part of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the BRITCHAM.
In a press conference in the British ambassador Steven Fisher’s residence, De Moya said the tournament is already a tradition in Dominican golf which also serves to share and bolster business ties within an ambiance of camaraderie, led by Britain’s Ambassador, and boasts a high level of professionalism by participating players.
He thanked the tournament’s sponsors, especially Shell, which has led the supporters since the first edition, as well as Alfa Romeo, Southshore, Fiat, Ege-Haina, Metaldom, Orange, Progreso Bank, CESPM, Grupo Rica, Banco Popular, Universal Insurance, Brugal, Viamar Group, Reid, Unilever, Blue Planet Water, Vinos S. A., Álvarez Sánchez, Bepensa, Buchanan’s, La Aurora Cigars, Chivas Regal, Coors Light, Listin Diario, Dewar’s 12 years, Emilio Hot Dogs, Nespresso and Renaissance Jaragua.
As to the tournament details, Janiris Peña said it will be played in the format scramble in pairs, in categories A, B and C of men’s and ladies single division. Trophies will be awarded in each category for the three lowest net scores, and the tournament’s best gross score.
De Peña said there will be special prizes such as hole in one, with a Jeep Grand Cherokee sponsored by Reid & Compañia, which another hole in one gets a Jaguar, sponsored Viamar Group, in addition to the traditional awards to Longest drive, and Closest to pin.
