Be Live Hamaca refurbishes facility

The Globalia Group recently concluded the refurbishing of its Be Live Hamaca hotel, situated some 15 minutes east of Santo Domingo’s international airport and 30 minutes from the country’s capital city.  The hotel refurbished most of its common grounds, restaurants, rooms and its popular Pelican Restaurant, overlooking one of the country’s most beautiful beaches.   The Be Live Hamaca is located in the beachfront tourism community of Boca Chica.

The 693-room hotel now offers 155 completely refurbished rooms, which feature new flooring, bathrooms, lighting and décor. The popular Pelican Restaurant, one of the hotel’s main attractions, was also completely redone.

The all-inclusive Be Live Hamaca features five restaurants, five bars, a snack bar, casino, spa, gymnasium, and a theater and rooms that can be set up for various activities.

The Spanish-based Globalia Group, boasting the largest earnings for any Spanish-owned tourism company (in 2009 earnings were 3.5 billion euros), has investments in the Dominican Republic totaling some US$500 million.  The company has generated more than 3,000 direct jobs.

Its portfolio also includes the airline Air Europa, the Be Live chain of hotels and Travelplán, the leading Spanish tour operator. Another company, Groundforce, services aircraft on the ground.  It also operates a chain of travel agencies known as Hawk and Ecuador.

The Be Live chain operates in Spain, Cuba and Morocco.  In the Dominican Republic, its popular hotels are found in Boca Chica, La Romana, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.
