Barrick Gold willing to discuss all except Dominican mine contract
Santo Domingo.- The CEO of Barrick Gold’s Pueblo Viejo mine on Thursday announced the company’s willingness to discuss any matter with the Dominican Government, except the operations contract.
Manuel Rocha clarified that Canadian based miner isn’t in the stage of negotiating anything regarding its contract with the State, and noted that the pact had congressional approval.
Quoted by hoy.com.do, the executive cautioned that Barrick Gold has no interest in making the issue a controversy, because in his view, it doesn’t benefit the country or the company.
Rocha said it’s his job to present the truth and educate the public, because it might not be managing all the facts.
