Barrick Gold tops 817,000 ounces this year, eyes 1.0M in 2014
Cotui, Dominican Republic.- The head of Barrick Gold’s local operation on Thursday said the Canadian miner will extract more than 817,000 ounces of gold by December 31, and expects to reach an estimated one million next year.
Pueblo Viejo Corp. CEO Manuel Rocha said Barrick aims to export one million ounces of gold extracted from Cotui’s Pueblo Viejo mine in 2014.
The announcement came during ribbon cutting headed by Customs director Fernando Fernández, for a Customs supervisory office, that will inspect Barrick Gold’s extracted metals prior to export.
