Airlines to cover flights left by American Eagle, Iberia
Santo Domingo.- The Puerto Rico and European routes left by American Eagle and Iberia airlines will be covered by Seaboard and Avion Express, their executives announced Monday after a National Palace meeting with president Danilo Medina.
Gary Foss, president of the U.S. based airline Seaboard, said his company began operations on December 15, with a daily flight from La Romana to San Juan, Puerto Rico, initially with four aircraft.
Regarding the investment, Foss revealed that each aircraft cost US$3.0 million, but doesn’t include expenses for pilots, flight attendants, or administrative staff.
David Masson and Garear Forber, executives of the European based airline Avion Express, said their in a certification period and will begin operations in six months, with initial flights to Central America and the United States and then to Europe.
