Vietnamese mobile operator to launch in Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.– Vietnamese mobile operator Viettel plans to launch mobile voice and internet services in the Dominican Republic, according to press resports.
The Vietnamese government has proposed the Dominican authorities to expand operations of state-owned operator Viettel in the country, with initial investments of US$300 million.
Viettel will provide mobile voice services for residential users, as well as free internet connections at Dominican Republic schools, said Duong Minh, Vietnam Communist Party leader in charge of relations with the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
