Two dominican hotels awarded certificates of excellence
The classic “El Embajador” Occidental Hotel in Santo Domingo and the Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge were recently awarded Certificates of Excellence by TripAdvisor, one of the world’s most important travel websites. The awards are issued to tourism facilities that receive high ratings from international customers.
Situated in Barahona, on the country’s southwest region, visitors to “Casa Bonita” gave it the highest honors for excellent customer service. The facility offers 12 suites, all decorated with rustic elegance. Visitors have access to canopy tours, hiking, tennis, mountain biking and snorkeling, among other attractions. The restaurant uses fresh organic vegetables produced in the hotel’s very own gardens.
The 278-room “El Embajador” Occidental Hotel is situated in the very heart of Santo Domingo, the capital city. Inaugurated in 1952, the hotel has become a true classic.
“El Embajador” is nestled near the “Parque Mirador,” Santo Domingo’s most important park. It features an outdoor pool, ample tropical gardens, gymnasium, spa, gourmet restaurants, executive floor, and a business center. Perhaps one of its most important characteristics is that the trees in the hotel’s gardens have become the home of thousands of parrots. The parrots leave the grounds in the early morning hours, only to return at the end of the day to their safe haven.
