Santo Domingo.- During the first four months this year the number of visitors continued to rise, with nearly 1.9 million nonresident passengers, a 7.35% growth compared with the January-April 2011 period.
The Central Bank’s Statistics Department said 399,143 tourists arrived just in April, or 5.59% more
The Tourism Ministry said the stronger figures shows the result of the joint promotion work with the private sector in the international markets.
Total resident and nonresident passenger arrivals climbed 7.18%, as the result of the 1,908,107 travelers who came through the various air terminals, led by nationals from Russia and France, Canada, and the U.S., as well as South-Americans.
