Titanic memorial cruise sets sail
At 11.40pm on Sunday 14 April 1912 – 100 years ago – the Titanic was just a few days into its maiden voyage when a lookout delivered the fateful message: “Iceberg, right ahead”.
A 10-day cruise recreating the planned voyage of the Titanic sails from Southampton on Sunday afternoon, taking 1,300 passengers to the wreck site before proceeding to New York.
Among those on board the MS Balmoral are dozens of relatives of those who took the original, ill-fated, voyage.
