The Sheraton hotel chain returns to Santo Domingo
The Meliá Santo Domingo Hotel, situated in the “Malecon” – the capital city’s seaside boulevard – will once again be managed by the Sheraton hotel chain.
This five-star, 245-room hotel, located in one of Santo Domingo’s most beautiful boulevards, was inaugurated in the seventies by the Sheraton chain. Some 10 years the Spanish chain Sol Meliá took over operations.
Again with a Sheraton hotel in Santo Domingo.
Although the hotel caters to the business sector, it also receives a significant number of visiting tourists who enjoy the vibrant activities found, both day and night, in Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital city.
In Santo Domingo, visitors can also enjoy the wealth of monuments inherited from the island’s colonial past, which was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492.
This five-star, 245-room hotel, is located some 30 minutes from the Las Americas international airport and is just a few minutes away from the capital city’s Colonial Section, declared by UNESCO as a patrimony to humanity.
Before the complete turnover to the Sheraton brand, the hotel will be known as the “Magna 365.” The name Magna is a brand used locally by the Lama family of Santo Domingo, owners of the hotel.
The brand identifies many of the local businesses owned by this family in Santo Domingo.
