The government will pay the 13th salary, often called the “Christmas bonus”
Santo Domingo.- The government will pay the 13th salary, often called the “Christmas bonus” or “double pay,” to its employees on Thursday 6 and Friday December 7, next week, the National Palace announced Thursday.
Finance minister Simon Lizardo said the money, also known as “double salary,” totals more than RD$7.0 billion, to be disbursed for Government workers during those two days.
Lizardo’s announcement came at a National Palace press conference, after he met with president Danilo Medina. “The payment of the double salary the first week of December is on instruction from president Medina, in the interest that all public servants receive their 13th wage early.”
