The government approves 19 new free zones companies since August
Santo Domingo.- Since August the National Free Zone Council has approved 19 free zones companies, which once operational will provide 6,000 new jobs, the agency director Luisa Fernández said Monday.
The official said the number show that many of those companies which had left the country for Asian nations, have decided to return. She said she’s upbeat about the future of free zones, on which authorities expect the creation of around 100,000 jobs next year.
Quoted by diariolibre.com, Fernández said the government’s plan for the next four years is to continue to raise the number of the country’s free zone companies, which now total 548.
