Support from the whole world for the Fishermen’s Village
The many messages received from readers after the catastrophe that destroyed the Fisherman’s Village last week and their solidarity demonstrate how important this small set of establishments was, for tourists and for residents.
The support provided comes from everywhere, from all countries. For example a retired American firefighter who lives in Nagua contacted us. He offered to come to Las Terrenas to check the truck, to find connectors for the hoses so that they can be used and even ship in a floating pump to add equipment to the fire department.
Initiatives emerge and everyone does what they can to try to respond to the needs as soon as possible, while the Fishemen’s Village is being rebuilt.
Of course, it will not be as before, and we can’t wait to see the plans designed by the Ministry of Tourism’s architects.
