Russian airline Transaéreo will link Moscow and Puerto Plata
Dominican Republic announced that the Russian airline Transaéreo will open a weekly flight next winter between Moscow and Puerto Plata (north).
Dominican Deputy Minister of Tourism Magaly Toribio, said that the decision was made after a meeting held in Moscow with the President of the airline Dmitry Stolyarov and several tour operators.
Puerto Plata has experienced a recovery during the last months and remains a priority for the minister (Dominican Tourism) Francisco Javier Garcia and the entire tourism sector she said.
In 2011, more than 120 thousand Russians visited the Dominican Republic, representing a growth of 58 percent compared with the arrivals of 2010.
