Readers unsure about Haiti-DR joint tourism destination
Santo Domingo.- In the closest voting in a DT survey yet, the topic of joint tourism promotion with Dominican Republic’s Hispaniola neighbour spread nearly evenly among the four responses, when readers were asked “Should D.R., Haiti be a joint tourism destination?”
The response “Yes, both could benefit,” drew 6,190 votes, or 25.37%, followed closely by “Maybe, but with strong safeguards” with 6,081 votes, or 24.92%.
Again close behind in third was the option “No, it could harm DR’s image” with 6,066 votes, or 24.86%, with “No, it’s business, go it alone,” with 6,063, or 24.85% of the readers who took part in the weekly unscientific survey.
