Intensive rains in the North Coast: 1500 homes flooded in Sosua – Cabarete, tragic death of a child

“PUERTO PLATA.-Intensive rains registered in the last few hours in cities in the North coast have been flooded approximately one thousand 500 homes in Sosúa and Cabarete, caused road become impassable and resulted in the tragic death of a child of just one year.”

“Official reports indicate that the child, whose identity was not given, was dragged by a stream of water from the front of his house located at Paradise Villa of Maranatha, Sosúa sector, and then fell into a septic hole from where the brigades rescued his body.”

“The downtown streets of the tourist municipality of Sosúa, located in the eastern part of Puerto Plata, were swamped altogether as well as dozens of homes from the Tuesday night until the morning of Wednesday as a result of the overflow of rivers, streams and ravines.”
