Hotel Riu Palace Macao is refurbished; now an adults-only hotel

The newly renovated Hotel Riu Palace Macao, in Punta Cana, on the country’s easternmost region, has been completely refurbished and turned into an adults-only resort.
This is the first Riu hotel to feature this innovative modality in the Americas and the Caribbean.

Overall investment in the facility was reported to be US$13.5 million.

The refurbishing respected the original colonial style of the 364-room hotel.

All rooms have been decorated, and now include many amenities such as flat-screen televisions, showers cabins and whirlpool tubs.

Additions to the facility: the new Café Cappuccino, a chain of coffee and pastry shops runs by the hotel chain in all its Palace hotels.

Also, two new restaurants: the Italian ‘Volare’ and the “Pancho” Grill Steak-House, the buffet-restaurant ‘El Patio’, the Japanese ‘Kabuki’ and the fusion restaurant Krystal.

Other amenities: a brand-new pool bar, the La Boheme pool bar, the Copacabana outdoor amphitheater, and a new casino.

In the Dominican Republic the Riu chain of hotels also features the Riu Palace Bávaro, the Riu Palace Punta Cana, as well as the popular and recently refurbished Riu Bambu and Riu Naiboa
