Dominican speed duo goes for medals today
London. – Two of the country’s top three athletes will run on the Olympic Park’s track, looking to put Dominican Republic’s name in the medals board of the London Games for the first time.
Luguelín Santos reached the finals after easily winning the third heat in the semifinals Sunday with 44.78 seconds.
He said he he’s in prime condition to run a good 400-meter race today. “I’m fine, I had another good race and I’m giving everything to get on top.”
And Athens gold medal Felix Sanchez also showed prime condition by winning his semifinal heat in the 400 meter hurdles.
Beijing Taekwondo silver medalist Gabriel Mercedes is Dominican Republic’s third athlete with a solid chance to win a medal.
