Builders can draw for contracts to build 340 schools
Santo Domingo.- The Education Ministry on Tuesday asked the companies to update their status in the Registry of Government Suppliers and take part in the drawing for contractors to build 340 new schools.
“The Education Ministry invites you to participate in the Urgency Procedure carried out by the institution to implement the National School Buildings Program, created by Decree 625-12, beginning with the construction of 340 new schools, equivalent to approximately 6,020 new classrooms and 39 schools for rehabilitation and expansion, equivalent to approximately 282 classrooms,” the document says.
It said there’s a commitment to start the next school year with the extended day program of 8 hours, “with a decent learning environment and the resources necessary for effective teaching.”
“The process for the beginning of construction, rehabilitation and expansion of schools is to be imposed immediately,” Education said.
“Anyone interested in participating in the procedure should obtain the precise specifications, beginning next Friday, November 23, in the Education Ministry’s Procurement and Contracting Unit, for Santo Domingo province and the National District.”
