At Viva Wyndham Hotels the physically impaired can fully enjoy beaches
The Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace hotels have conditioned their rooms and overall facilities in order to accommodate and provide access to physically impaired guests.
They are the first hotels in the Dominican Republic to provide safe and comfortable ramps, as well as special chairs in the beach areas so that these guests are able to gain beach access.
Some of the features include ramps and elevators to facilitate movement by wheelchair-bound individuals, especially to restaurants, pools, theaters and other recreational areas.
Both facilities now have special chairs known as “Job” and “Job Walker,” which are especially designed for wheelchair access to the beach areas.
The chairs are available at the water sports office, where the staff has been trained to provide assistance and orientation.
The Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach, located in the resort community of Bayahibe – in the country’s eastern region – features 604 rooms, five restaurants, a kids club, spa, gymnasium, tennis courts, table tennis area, beach volleyball and billiards.
The Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace, also located in Bayahibe, has 330 rooms, four restaurants, three bars, disco, diving center, a kids club, and a daily program of activities.
Both hotels feature beaches that have been “Blue Flag” certified.
