The 2nd Annual Sosua Kids Christmas Fair & Market, December, 17′th
THE BIG DAY
Circle Saturday, December 17th on your calendar. That’s the day of the 2nd Annual Sosua Kids Christmas Fair and Market. A good portion of Pedro Clisante will be closed from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Santa, the guest of honor, will open the fair at 1:00 PM, marching down Pedro Clisante with his entourage to the magical Santa’s Grotto. He will spend the day listening to Christmas wishes from the young and the young at heart.
A photographer will be available to memorialize each personal visit with Santa.
To make the day complete, Santa’s helpers have built a Bouncy Castle and put together a number of games and activities including a Tombola with lots of prizes, a Coloring Competition, Face Painting, Cake Decorating, a Hoopla and a Fish Pond. Market Stalls and live music will entertain parents while the children play.
Provide your own table and a mere RD $500 pesos will reserve a 24” x 48” market stall. Space is limited so reserve as soon as possible.
The search is on for a caricaturist as well as items for the White Elephant stall. So alert your artistic friends and scour your closets for good quality items to donate.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the efforts of the volunteers, and all who attended last year, Sosua Kids was able to send 440 children to school, 47 of which were directly funded by the Christmas Fair. This year we’re looking to significantly increase that number.
RD $1500 pesos will provide a uniform, backpack, books and the supplies necessary to keep a child in school for a year. So, please, open your hearts and loosen your purse strings. Join us at the festival and, better still, donate the funds vital to fostering a desire to learn and a sense of curiosity about the world to at least one Dominican child.
For additional information, to donate or to book a stall, contact Maggie Blackman, 829-994-9295 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. See you there.
