Haitian minister robbed by gunmen in Santiago de los Caballeros
Santiago, DR.– A presidential adviser in Haiti, Damian Merlo, said late Friday that Minister of Haitians Living Abroad Daniel Supplice was attacked while visiting the Dominican city of Santiago de los Caballeros.
Without offering further details, Haiti’s newspaper Le Matin reported that four members of the Dominican police force robbed Supplice and his family Thursday of his cell phone and valuables.
According to the press reports, the alleged incident happened in Santiago while the minister was in the country for a wedding. Friday night Supplice’s Twitter account posted that he was “doing very well” and would speak to the press Monday.
