Director Brett Ratner in Cap Cana for film festival
Cap Cana, DR.– US director Bret Ratner (“X-Men: The Last Stand”) arrived in Cap Cana to present a special screening of his latest film “Tower Heist” as part of the 5th Annual Dominican Global Film Festival, organized by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode).
President Leonel Fernandez and his wife, First Lady Margarita Cedeño, along with special guests and a select group of reporters, will attend the screening at the Cap Cana Marina, scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 pm. The Head of State will be back in the capital for the festival’s closing ceremony Sunday night at the National Theater.
“Tower Heist” is an action/comedy film set in New York City in an upscale apartment called The Tower. Josh Kovacs, played by Ben Stiller, is the building manager and discovers that one of the building residents, Arthur Shaw, played by Alan Alda, had entered all of his residents into a Ponzi scheme with the worker’s pension that Shaw invested in.
Shaw and the other workers at The Tower are entered into the hell that comes from a Ponzi scheme. With the help of a few workers and Slide, played by Eddie Murphy, Kovac cooks up a plan to steal back US$20 million to give back to the workers.
